Ida was born on December 17, 1934, in Abingdon, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Hazel (Lane) Kilpatrick. She married Nathan F. Johnson on August 17, 1956, in Avon, IL. They spent nearly 60 years together before his passing on July 24, 2016. Ida was a member of Bethel EC Church in Dixon. She proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Ida loved to spend her time volunteering with her husband at places like KSB, Reagan House, and Lee County Council of Aging, even serving on the board. She was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2006, alongside her husband. They also managed the Dairy Queen in Dixon from 1984 - 1989 and worked at the Dixon pharmacy.
