Dolores was born December 19, 1937, in Oregon, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Wilde) Young. She was raised in Oregon and went to Rockford Memorial Nursing School to become a registered nurse. Almost 4 decades of her nursing career was spent at the Shabbona Nursing Home. She met Army veteran, Les Larson, on a blind date. They were married on September 20, 1958, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Oregon, IL. Dolores had many interests but spending time with friends and family was most important to her. This included her Calvary Lutheran Church family where she was an active member.
