Wiliams, 66, of Sterling, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at his home. Vern was born November 13, 1957, in Sterling, the son of William T. and Lois (Tarbill) Williams. In high school, Hawkeye played football and wrestling. He enjoyed fishing and cooking, and had a love for building/construction. His family will remember him as a man who enjoyed life. Survivors include his mother, Lois Williams, of Sterling; four daughters, Michelle Erdmann, Amy Williams, both of Portage, WI; Jennifer (David) Archambeau, of AZ, and Kimberly (Guy) Scherf, of MN; three sisters, Joan Williams, of Rock Falls, Barb (Don) Rascoe, and Sandi (Dennis) Hay; two brothers, John Williams, and Tom (Sharyl) Williams, all of Sterling; six grandchildren, Dylan Erdmann, Mekah Erdmann, Ella, Wyatt, June, and Booker; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
