Rustad Born: March 21, 1929 in Sterling, IL Died: August 16, 2024 in Dixon, IL Geraldine "Gerry" Bonnell Rustad, 95, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, in Dixon, after a short illness. Gerry was born on March 21, 1929, in Sterling, the daughter of Alvie and Charlotte "Esther" (Baker) Bonnell. She married Leroy C. Rustad on June 24, 1949, in Beach, ND. Above all things, Gerry loved her family and spending time with her grandkids. Gerry is survived by her children, Maelynn (Lee) Heintzelman of Dixon, Carla (Keith) Detrie of Plano, TX, Jay (Jan) Rustad of Dixon, Beth (Matt) Fichter of Dixon; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Rustad; her parents; five sisters, Rita Miatke, Doris Cheshire, Barb Kessler, Luella Duvall, Karen Wachlin; and two brothers, Bud and Polly Bonnell.
