Leonard A. Johnson Born: February 28, 1937 Died: June 27, 2024 Leonard Alan Johnson, 87, the sweetest man on God's green earth, passed away Thursday June 27, 2024 at Rock River Hospice & Home. He was born on February 28, 1937 in Rockford, the son of Daniel Boone and Helen (Janssen) Johnson Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of Rock Falls High School. Upon graduation, he joined the US Airforce where he served for four years. During this time, he married Elaine Anderson. Three children were born to that marriage. In 1976 he married Martha Jane Duffy. He was employed for 40 years as a Senior Claims Specialist for General Casualty, retiring in 1999. Leonard volunteered many years in the Merrill and Tampico Schools as a teacher's aide; he volunteered for Good Neighbors and as a patient transporter for CGH Medical Center. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed getting together with his coffee buddies. But most of all, he loved his church
