Glenn was born May 18, 1945, the son of Glenn and Alene (Hapgood) Dancey. He married Gail Jahnke on July 11, 1970 in Berwyn IL. Glenn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sterling. He attended Harlem High School in Loves Park. He attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a BS in Industrial Technology, and he also graduated from Northern Illinois University with an MS in Industrial Technology. He taught industrial arts at Challand Junior High at Community Unit District #5. Upon retirement from the school district, he worked for Self Help Enterprises for 10 years. Glenn's hobbies included model cars, Lionel trains, tropical fish, several classic cars, and being a world traveler. He's also known for his many trips to Kenya Africa through his church.
